Marina Petrova’s short fiction has been published in the Story magazine, Mississippi Review, The Gettysburg Review, Catapult, Pinch, The Conium Review, and others. 

She was awarded fellowships from MacDowell and the Sustainable Arts Foundation. Her story “Vacation,” originally published in The Gettysburg Review, was included among the distinguished stories in the 2024 Best American Short Stories anthology. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School. 

Born in the former Soviet Union, she has lived in the South, Midwest, and presently Northeast. She is currently working on a short story collection.
