Marina Petrova's short fiction has been published in Story, The Gettysburg Review, Mississippi Review, Catapult, The Pinch, The Blue Nib, and other journals. 

Her story "Vacation" was named an Other Distinguished Story in The Best American Short Stories 2024. She has received fellowships from MacDowell and the Sustainable Arts Foundation. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School.

She was born in the former Soviet Union and has lived in the South, Midwest, and now Northeast. She is currently working on a short story collection.
